These kits include printed card stock with folding lines, HeatnBond iron-on-glue and a backing sheet of card stock. There are two kits right now #1 is for a 1/4″ (6+mm) ribbon pleat, which is narrow and long. #2 is for an 1/8″ (~3mm) ribbon pleat, which is wider than it is tall at 11X~8.5. The kits come with pdf instructions on how to put the kit together and how to use the finished pleater. If you are making the Mid-19thC Evening headdress you will want #1.
wide/short Pleater #2 –1/8″
If you want to make 1/8″ pleated ribbon on the diagonal as well as a straight line then you want #2.
wide/short Pleater #3–1/4″
If you want to make 1/4″ pleated ribbon on the diagonal as well as a straight line then you want #3. There is an example of a cockade made on this pleater below.
