For the star design you will need 6 of the larger basic speruers and one covered saucer bead. For the lead you will need one of the smaller, two or the larger speruers and one piece of straw thread.

To make the larger ones follow this layout (check the link on how to make a basic sperurer).

For the flower part you need some glue and a 1.25″ round base to glue the speruers to.

Cover the edges with glue.

Add them one by one.

When you get all 6 on readjust them as the glue dries so they are evenly spaced.

Glue the center in place. Be careful not to get too much glue.

3 part leaf branch

This branch is made of three leaf shapes. Two 9to5s like the star elements above and one smaller 8to4 for the tip and one piece of straw thread knotted at one end.

Slip the straw thread into a large eyed needle with a point.

Slip the needle into the center of the 8to4 speruer so that it comes out as close to the bottom center as possible. This is best done when the straw is still a little damp.

Pull the thread through until the knot is in the very center of the speruer.

Sew the two 9to5s together with a double thread slipping the needle between the two threads so it does not have to anchor in the straw. Adjust the thread so the knot is somewhere inside one of the speruers.

Sew back and forth between the two speruers and around and through the straw thread until the set of leaves can not slip down the stem.

Tack the thread to the back of the star.
