Here is how I made a hair pick to add to finish hairdo to recreate this.

We can only see this side of the hair ornament so I had to make up the other side.

I decided to use some goose feathers on the far side. I also decided to use a twisted wire pick to support the feathers and a cone bead to cover the base of the feathers.

I used 12″ of 20 gauge gold covered copper wire folded in half. I clamped the cut ends of the wire into a hand drill.

The loop end of the wire is slipped over a pen or large nail which is clamped into a desk top vice. This can be done without a vice if you have someone to hold the pen while you work the drill.

Twist the drill until the wire is twisted along it length. Remove it from the drill and un-twist the last inch.

Use fine wire or thread to bind the base ostrich tip to the twisted wire just below the un-twisted wire.

Add the next one in the same way.

Add the last one.

Cut off the downy part of the Goose shoulder feathers and curl the edges. Check out the how to curl goose feathers here.

Glue the first 3 together with a dot of glue at their bases. Create two more sets.

With a fine wire join the bases of the sets onto a piece of stem wire.

Cover the wire with florist tape.

Add the Goose bundle to the Ostrich bundle that is on the twisted wire with more tape.

With wire cutters trim the stems of the Goose at about 1″.

Add back some of the downy stems and tape them to the base of the feathers.

Wrap the metallic cone around the base of the feathers to cover the tape.

This is how it looks at this point.

Shape both the wire pick and the feathers so they will arc over the head.
